The Grammy Awards selection process is managed by the Recording Academy, a professional organization of musicians, producers, engineers, and recording industry professionals.

Submission Artists, record labels, and other eligible parties submit recordings (songs, albums, performances) for consideration. To be eligible, the work must have been released within the Grammy eligibility period (usually from October 1 of the previous year to September 30 of the current year).

Screening: The Recording Academy reviews each submission to ensure it meets eligibility requirements and is placed in the correct genre/category. Voting - First Round (Nominations) Voting members of the Recording Academy (musicians, producers, songwriters, etc.) vote in categories they are most knowledgeable about.

The top five to eight nominees (depending on the category) with the most votes move forward. Special Committees (For Certain Categories) Some categories, like Album of the Year, go through an additional review committee to ensure fairness and prevent bias.
These committees can sometimes override popular votes to select nominees.

Final Voting Round: Voting members of the Recording Academy vote again, choosing winners from the final nominees. The person or group with the most votes in each category wins. Winners are revealed at the Grammy Awards ceremony.
